This week the news is all abuzz over some controversial comments made on Facebook by Mayor (at the time) of Piedmont, Jeff Wieler. According to CBS SF Bay Area, last week at a City Council meeting, Wieler was confronted with a reading of his messages by Piedmont resident Conna McCarthy. She read to the council his comments on the Black Lives Matter movement, the transgender community, and democrats.
At this meeting, he did not deny the posts and a day or two later stepped down from office, hoping to remain on the Council. To read more, visit a list of articles found at the Piedmont Civic Association‘s website.
